Philip Lumb joined Clapham & Collinge's Litigation team in September 2015 as a Consultant Solicitor.
Philip has over 15 years' experience of handling high value and complex claims in connection with property transactions, wills and probate, mortgage fraud, personal injury, clinical negligence, failed investment and trust advice and auditing.
Having started his career in London, Philip has dealt with multiple high value claims by lenders against solicitors and surveyors, negotiating settlements that were favourable to his clients. Philip has handled claims involving financial advisers and accountants, ranging from litigation about complex international investment products which settled for a small fraction of the sum claimed, to dealing with complaints to the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
During his career, Philip's highlights include winning the summary dismissal of a complex claim against solicitors in the Chancery Division of the High Court involving property joint ventures said to be worth £100m, and successfully defending claims at trial involving high value residential property transactions and by disappointed beneficiaries against an estate.
Philip deals with all aspects of litigation, but with particular emphasis on negligence claims against all professionals, wills and probate claims, personal injury, clinical negligence and claims involving property.
