Clapham & Collinge contribute to three local Norfolk Charities

At Clapham & Collinge we are passionate about supporting charities and the excellent work they do in the local community.

From unclaimed client balances Clapham & Collinge have been able to make payments to local charities to support the work they are doing.

One of our chosen charitable organisations is Sheringham Little Theatre, who Clapham & Collinge are proud sponsors of. Theatre Director at the Little Theatre, Debbie Thompson, told our Charity Department, "we are delighted that Clapham & Collinge chose us as one of their beneficiary charities. Such a huge donation makes a great difference to The Little Theatre and we are extremely grateful."

Partner and Head of Charity Department at Clapham & Collinge, Neale Grearson, said, "charities are coming under increasing pressure to deliver much needed services but at a time when their resources are very stretched. With inflation and the cost of living crisis people are less able to donate or contribute to charities. We are therefore delighted to be able to make these contributions."

We were also proud to be able to present a cheque to the The Norfolk Lymphoma Group, part of Lymphoma Action UK. Marguerite Russell, Credit Controller at Clapham & Collinge was recently named the longest serving volunteer with The Norfolk Lymphoma Group, after 27 years supporting the charity. She has told us how this payment will make a difference to the charity and the excellent work that they do, "funds raised have benefitted locally, including training days for specialist nursing at the NNUH, distribution of Lymphoma Action magazines and information packs in hospitals and doctors surgeries, and sponsoring factual medical publications". Marguerite's fundraising work for The Norfolk Lymphoma group is about spreading awareness too, as someone in the UK is diagnosed with lymphatic cancer every 26 minutes.

The third cheque was received by James Ellis, Branch Director at Norwich Samaritans, who told us how the contribution will support their upcoming projects, "the money will be put towards our Branch Renovation project to transform our current premises into more usable facilities to provide the Samaritans listening service to those in need and distress."
