A Marathon Walk for Mind

A Marathon Walk for Mind

Clapham and Collinge are pleased to announce that we will be participating in the Marriots Way walk for Norfolk and Waveney Mind this April.

On 21st April 2023, a team of six from Clapham and Collinge, will be walking the 26-mile journey from Aylsham to Norwich, along Marriots Way, to raise money for Norfolk and Waveney Mind, to fund the excellent support that they offer to those experiencing struggles with their mental health. In order to go the extra mile, or 0.2 in this instance, the team will be carrying on past the 26th mile, to complete a full marathon.

Norfolk and Waveney Mind have stated that they 'are busier than ever, 60% of adults and young people who did not experience poor mental health before the pandemic are now experiencing mental health issues', so it is more important than ever for us to support the charity with our fundraising activites.

Alex Wiseman, Partnerships and Income Generation Manager, at Norfolk and Waveney Mind, said, 'Thank you so much to the team at Clapham & Collinge for agreeing to take part in our very first Marriot's Way Walk in 2023. As Norfolk and Waveney's leading mental health charity, we support thousands of local people every year through our wide range of services and support programmes. Each year the demand for our services increases as more and more people seek support for their mental health. By taking part in this challenge Clapham & Collinge are helping us ensure that no one has to face poor mental health alone, whilst also helping us to raise awareness and reduce the stigma associated with mental health. Thanks to the team for walking and all their supporters for donating money'.

Hannah Begley, Edward Jacobs, Jessica Bailey, Sue Pearson, Morgan Lungley and Tina Chetwyn are all excited to get involved in the challenge and raise funds for such a worthy cause. They are hoping to raise £500 for Norfolk and Waveney Mind and would be very appreciative of any donations to help them reach this target!
